Pinpoint GPS technology creates autonomous driving in some models of the Motorguide Xi 5, made possible by two compasses and a GPS system. You can control it using the wireless foot pedal remote control included in the scope of delivery, which transmits the control commands.

Anchor function: As the name suggests; The Xi5 keeps your fishing boat exactly in one place, neither wind and waves nor the current of a river let your fishing boat drift away, the precise GPS technology and the fast response time of the motor ensure this.

Heading Lock: You only have to choose one direction and the Motorguide Xi5 drives your fishing boat in that direction - independently. A possible drift from the course, by wind, waves or currents is counteracted automatically.

Cruise Control Tempomat: The Motorguide XI5 keeps the speed constant and balances wind, waves and currents, ideally suited for trolling anglers, as it makes it easier to maintain the optimal trolling speed.

Routes: The Motorguide Xi5 is able to draw routes and drive them with a given cruise control speed, these can also be saved. The Xi5 stores up to 8 routes up to 4 miles long.

Otherwise, the Motorguide Xi5 has all the functions that are to be expected: a battery level indicator and LED lights that provide information about the four most important functions even at night. The top values ​​of the Xi5 in terms of battery life should be mentioned here, made possible by the new digital power management. An integrated 83/200 kHz echo sounder transducer is built into the motor and can be used, of course all made of materials that are particularly stable and at the same time light.

Another special technology in the Motorguide Xi5 is the VRS technology (Variable Ration Steering) technology, which allows the motor to be steered particularly precisely within an angle of 45 ° of the current course. If this area is left, the gear ratio increases significantly and the engine turns quickly, ideal for quick evasive maneuvers.

The fact that Motorguide is finally compatible with Lowrance echo sounders ensures further enthusiasm. A separately available NMEA2000 gateway kit enables Lowrance Elite Ti7 echo sounders and all HDS Gen3 echo sounders to communicate with the Xi5. The echo sounder takes over the control of the electric outboard, greatly simplified by the Smart Steer software. For example, you can automatically drive U-turns, C-turns, zigzag courses or even elongated S-curves, of course also other courses and routes that you have previously defined on the touchscreen on the Lowrance echo sounder.
