The Mito looks like something out of the magic box from James Bonds Q. With a weight of 3.45 kilograms and a length of 40 centimeters, it doesn't quite fit into the day tour backpack. Mito receives the control signals via a 50 meter long cable. This is connected to a buoy that is about the size of the drone itself. It serves as a radio receiver for the remote control signals. A clamped Android or iOS smartphone with installed app serves as the display. The drone is powered by a total of four rotors - two horizontally radiating and two vertical.
Mito thus achieves a maximum speed of 2 meters per second and a diving depth of up to 40 meters. The 80 Wh battery is sufficient for a two-hour dive and can be replaced.
It automatically corrects the color. Underwater footage often suffers from odd colors, so the drone’s app, available on iOS and Android, also has built-in color correction. The drone is operated with an included controller that also uses a slot to attach a smartphone. The built-in camera can livestream to the app for navigation in 1080p quality.
