THE VHF MARINE COMMUNICATIONS – REVOLUTIONIZED
With an intuitive touchscreen handset built to last, the Cortex V1 is a communications hub that combines strong, clear audio with the power of AIS collision avoidance - plus remote monitoring and control of onboard or shore-based systems.
The Cortex V1 system gives you outstanding sound quality with up to 85 dBA. Easily operate the included Cortex H1 handset with one hand using the touchscreen, click wheel and dedicated buttons. With the integrated SOTDMA AIS transponder, you are proactively warned of certain collision hazards using voice alerts. Tap the AIS boat icon on the handset touchscreen to initiate direct DSC calls. With the Cortex apps you can monitor boat systems, receive alerts and control devices remotely from your compatible smartphone. NMEA 2000® connectivity allows you to view Cortex data on connected multifunction displays and chartplotters.
VHF, AIS AND SURVEILLANCE
The Cortex V1 is an advanced VHF multistation radio with remote monitoring and control capabilities. The Cortex V1 system includes a Cortex M1 hub and a wired Cortex H1 handset. Optional, additional Cortex handsets (sold separately) provide even more freedom and control on board.
COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Cortex smartAIS continuously monitors AIS information from other boats, calculates when your courses will cross, issues collision alerts and provides easy-to-understand avoidance advice. Data from the onboard heading sensor is also sent, allowing other boats to clearly identify the direction your boat is heading.
FLEXIBLE VHF VOICE COMMUNICATION
Both portable and wired powered Cortex handsets connect wirelessly to the Cortex M1 hub via WiFi. So that you can continuously communicate via VHF anywhere on the boat, keep a portable handset with you.
DSC DIRECT ACCESS
Through Cortex, you can initiate direct DSC calls with other boats simply by tapping the ship icon on the handset. Initiate VHF calls to friends or quickly call other boats when every second counts.
ANCHOR WATCH
Whether you're on board or ashore, you'll always know if your boat is securely anchored. Cortex smartAIS accurately records boat movements, heading and bow position and alerts you when your anchor is off.

So you don't miss an important message, the Cortex VHF radio delivers a powerful, crystal-clear sound with up to 85 dBA.
HORN AND SPEAKER
Someone needs to be made aware of something? Easily activate preset horns or speak through the speaker. This works with any Cortex handheld device or via the Cortex onboard smartphone app.
HANDHELD DEVICES WHEREVER YOU NEED THEM
Multiple Cortex H1 and Cortex H1P handsets can be connected to each hub. Up to 5 can be connected directly to the Cortex network and an additional 5 over an existing boat network to increase range on larger boats.
