The Garmin Ltd. was founded in 1989 by Gary Burrell and Min Kao in the United States. Garmin produces at its own manufacturing facilities, three in Taiwan. More than 1400 engineers working in the areas of product development, production, quality assurance, cartography and language development. The European representation is located in the UK. 2011 took over the Garmin German manufacturers of navigation devices Navigon.
